WHAT IS “THE PULSE”?

Since September 2009, The Pulse Christian Youth Center has been located in the Spring Park neighborhood, serving the surrounding areas with a faith based non-denominational, walk-in community center offering free programs for disadvantaged and at-risk kids in Jacksonville

OUR PROGRAMS

Think Big. Act Bigger.

Gospel

The Pulse offers weekly age-appropriate “church” programs. These Bible-based lessons encourage morals, teach life principles and good citizenship. Dinner is served after the program.

Education

We truly believe that knowledge is power and it starts with staying in school and out of trouble. The Pulse strives to help kids by offering tutoring in all subjects, stressing reading proficiency and providing any help these young people need to succeed in grade school and beyond.

Cultural

The Pulse offers many field trips throughout the school year and over summer break to get kids off the couch, out of their neighborhood and into parks, museums and events that expose them to new areas of life. They learn and grow and find inspiration in places that they may otherwise never visit.

Recreational

The Pulse encourages exercise and outdoor fun with activities such as hiking, swimming, sports and games, a community garden and outdoor adventures like camping, that allow for healthy competitive interaction, fresh air, sunshine and plenty of exercise.
